UI: Students Will Continue Their IT Programmes From Monday—Director, ITCC

University of Ibadan’s Director of Industrial Training Coordinating Centre (ITCC), Dr. A. O. Ojelabi, said the University management has approved that students would continue their 2018/2019 SIWEPS or SWEP industrial training (IT) programme from Monday, September 21st.

The Director made this development known in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 16th.

The University management had in March this year suspended the industrial training programme due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Dr. Ojelabi, however, said students who have completed their training programme in spite of the Pandemic are not affected by this development.

He added that students should continue to comply with COVID-19 protocols as laid down by the Federal Government Task Force on Covid-19 and maintain personal hygiene as they resume training.

The Director further mentioned that “students who were yet to be posted or collect their training documents before the suspension should report to ITCC immediately.”

He said: “Any student who has the challenge of being absorbed back for the training with their employer should notify ITCC.

“Students who are yet to stamp their Employer’s Evaluation Form should do so at the Centre.”

The Centre will make arrangements to supervise the students on training, the Director also said, warning that students visiting the Centre without their face masks will not be attended to.

He urged the students to follow the guidelines issued by the ITCC to ensure a smooth, safe and successful training programme.
