NOAN ORGANISES WORKSHOP ON EOA
The association of the Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria organises a 3-day workshop on some concepts of Ecological Organic Agriculture.
The workshop which took place at the seminar hall, department of Agronomy, University of Ibadan started on 8th October and was rounded up around 5pm on Friday, 10th October.
The programme featured sensitization of stakeholders and actors in EOA, Entrepreneurship and Market information, training of local inspectors in Organic Agriculture including training on financial management in project implementation.
UNIBADAN WEBSITE TAKES A NEW LOOK WITH NEWS FROM AL-JAZEERA
The university of Ibadan information and communication technology centre has made available the breaking news and top stories from an international media- Al- Jazeera on the varsity website.
Apart from the new looks which made the website more attractive, the inclusion of the news link of Al-Jazeera has improved the standard of the varsity website.
NSASA CELEBRATES GOLDEN JUBILEE
Nigerian Sociological and Anthropological Students’ Association, University of Ibadan started her golden jubilee celebration on, Monday 13th October and will end on 17th October, 2014
The departmental association week will feature a lot of interesting and educating programmes ranging from an intervarsity debate competition in which 22 schools across the country will participate to an enlightening discussion at the personality lecture.
NO ONE TO REPRESENT UI AT THE NANS INTER CAMPUS ORATORY DEBATE
University of Ibadan had no representative at the inter campus oratory debate held at NUT hall Abeokuta.
The programme was organised by National Association of Nigerian Students and was hosted by the Ogun joint Campus Committee Axisalongside a one-day sensitization workshop for all Nigerian students.
Reacting to this situation via phone call was the Oyo joint campus Committee axis vice-chairman, who is also a student on the premier campus, Comrade NiniolaToyibwho expressed sadness over the situation.
ARMED ROBBERS VISIT MARIAM HOSTEL
On Thursday, October 9, the just completed Mariam hostel situated beside First bank Plc, UI branch was stormed by armed men, taking away valuables.
Despite the security provided by the bank and the hostel, the female hostel was invaded by armed men who robbed the occupants of their phones, laptops, money and other valuables.
There were no cases of rape ordeath; however some students were reported to have been beaten.
