UI MANAGEMENT WARNS NEW STUDENTS AGAINST ACCOMMODATION SCAM


Due to the trending information concerning the allocation of accommodation on the campus, the university management has warned the students to be careful of fraudsters who put up the information about the allocation of halls of residence ahead of the 2020/2021 session.

A statement which was released on the 4th of February, 2021 by the Director of Public Communication, Olatunji Oladejo, advised the students to disregard the information directing them to make payment for the accommodation.

Since the first semester of the 2020/2021 session will be done virtually due to the second wave of the pandemic, the university had said “no student will be accommodated on campus” 

The statement partly read, “the University hereby wishes to inform the new students and general public to disregard the information as student registration portal has not been opened. Kindly beware.”

The opening of registration portal and orientation programme for the 2020/2021 session  for the new students will commence on or before Saturday, 20th of February, 2021.

According to the statement, “details of registration procedure and guideline will be available on the University website— www.uiedu.ng soon.”
