The University of Ibadan Student Affairs Division has blacklisted 163 student associations, citing their failure to renew registration as reason.
The Deputy Registrar made this announcement in a memorandum released on Monday, August 19, 2025.
The memo stated that the affected associations had failed to renew their registration as required by the regulations guiding student associations.
“Accordingly, these associations have been blacklisted and shall remain blacklisted until they have complied with the regulations guiding registration of students association in the university,” part of the memo read.
The blacklisted associations have been prohibited from operating within the university environment, organizing or participating in programmes under the university’s name and presenting themselves as recognized student bodies until their registration status is regularized.
Affected associations include the University of Ibadan Medical Student Association (UIMSA), Mellanby Hall Press Organization, UniIbadan Association of Dental Students (UADS), Sigma Club, among others.
