The curtains were drawn on the maiden edition of the Sigma Club Sports Festival on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, after two weeks of sports action that featured four different sports, table tennis, football, scrabble and chess.
The women’s football Sigma league wrapped up September 30, 2025 with Joga Bonito topping the table with 9 points. Soccer For All (SFA) females came in second place with 5 points, while Phoenix FC finished third with 4 points.
The male category delivered drama and excitement until the very last minute. Starting the day with the male category with the third-place playoff, the Forza FC and Galacticos locked horns in a fiercely contested battle. Both sides exchanged goals in the first half, ending with a 1-1 draw. With no winner at full time, the match was decided with penalty shootouts. Forza won the game with a narrow 2-1 penalty shootout win, sealing third place.
Sigma Club held its novelty football match of the Old Sigmites against the Loyal Sigmites. The Loyal sigmites edged out their counterparts with a 1-0 win.
The Sigma Football male final was the football match between the Soccer For All male team against the TomTom FC. These two teams are familiar foes in the history of Sigma Cup Finals. SFA has the record of denying TomTom FC the title back-to-back. TomTom FC however, won the 2025 finals.
The first half kicked off with tension on the players and coaches of each side. TomTom took the lead in the first half, with an own goal from Bade, an SFA defender. SFA could not pull one goal back and TomTom FC could not extend their lead, ending the first half in a 1-,0 lead to Tom Tom
The second half kicked off at exactly 4:41pm and TomTom found their second goal almost immediately as MJ found the back of the net from the penalty spot after a handball in the box.
Seconds later, SFA were in search of a comeback as a Freekick played by Samad was headed out by Kante of TomTom FC.
The goal finally came in the 10th minute for SFA as a freekick taken by Agbowo and a blunder from Orodin started SFA’s comeback.
TomTom FC were however still on the attack even after conceding the goal as Kester stood in the heart of the defense, blocking out all dangerous attempt by the TomTom attack. Pade looked to score a third for TomTom but the offside flag caught him twice.
Seconds later, Orodin, the Goalkeeper went down seriously injured and had to be replaced by an outfield player, Heskeyman, for TomTom FC.
“SFA’S equalizer came in the dying minutes of the game as Emeka converted Agbowo’s freekick to draw SFA level.
The full time results meant that the match, just like in the past two editions, had to be decided on penalties.
With both teams missing their second spot kicks, the last round of the game had to be decided by the last round of shootouts. Heskeyman, the makeshift Goalkeeper, in a moment of briliance, saved Azees’ shot to make sure TomTom FC claimed a 4-3 shootout victory, finally toppling SFA and becoming champions of the inaugural Sigma Sports Festival.
For the Individual awards, Akinpade of TomTom won the Most Valuable player for the male category while Sarah of Joga Bonito won that of female category
