The Health Commissioner of the Great Independence Hall, Mr. Salami David, while reacting to an article published by Indy Press Organisation, said pressure is being mounted on the hall management to pack the toilet seats, and expressed displeasure at the way the article seemed to portray him as dormant. He said, “I appreciate the press for calling our attention to the toilet seats, but I have personally met with the hall warden, and I have likewise spoken with the Director of the University Student Lodging Bureau (USLB). We just have to wait till the school is ready to pack them, because if we go by the suggestion made, then we might not be able to account for the number of toilet seats removed when the school management asks.” This reaction was made in addition to the Administrator-General, Mr. Bamidele Emmanuel’s response to the clamours of floor representatives that renovations be sped up and the toilet seats attended to, at the sitting of the Great Independence Hall Legislative Assembly, which held on Friday, October 28, 2018, at the Junior Common Room, Great Independence Hall.
