As the major activity marking sixty-six years of grooming whole men and valuable contributions to the society, the Sigma Club University of Ibadan is set to induct honourary members into the Sigma Roll of Honour on June 5, 2016 at the famous Trenchard Hall of the University of Ibadan.
The Guest Luncheon is a landmark programme of the club where prominent Nigerian(s), who has contributed meritoriously to humanity and displayed high level of competency in their profession, but doesn’t have the opportunity of been inducted as a loyal Sigmite, will be inducted as honourary member(s).
Among those that have been inducted in time past are, Mr. Femi Adesina-Special Adviser to President Muhammad Buhari on Media and Publicity, Prof. Isaac Adewole- Minister of Health, HRH, Oba (Dr.) Adedapo Tejuosho CON, Dr. Wale Babalakin SAN, Professor Olu Akinkugbe CON Afe Babalola SAN, High Chief Kola Daisi CON and many others.
This year’s edition is set to make another record by inducting Prince Deji Haastrup and Chief Bolaji Ayorinde SAN, FCIArb. Prince Deji is a Masters holder in Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan and the General Manager for Policy Government and Public Affairs, Chevron Nigeria Limited; Chief Ayorinde SAN is a successful Senior Advocate of Nigeria, an alumnus of University College Buckland, United Kingdom and the Principal Partner, B. Ayorinde. & Co.
In the course of the Guest Luncheon, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sanni, the CEO of United Capital will be conferred an award of woman of distinction. Major General Reuben Nkado will be awarded for his meritorious contribution to the club as well as participants in the Kolawole Oluwole Essay Competition will be given award.
Expected at the said event are the principal officers of the University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka, the keynote Speaker-Prof. Gbolahan Elias, Emeritus Prof. Ayo Banjo as the Chairman of the day and Emeritus Prof. O. O. Akinkugbe as the special guest of honour.
