The Faculties of Science, Clinical Sciences, Nursing, Technology, Education, Dentistry, Law and Veterinary Medicine have won’t the first Inter-Faculty Round of Jaw War 2025.
These faculties secured their wins against age-long rivals, as in Law’s win against the Faculty of Arts. The Faculty of Social Sciences, however, was excluded from the draw, given its status as the defending champion from Jaw War, Rise of Legends, 2024.
As with the inter-hall round, the scores were tight in some places, as in Science’s 67.58% win, against 66.58% to Basic Medical Sciences.
Other results were distant and undisputable, as in Arts’ 60.03% loss to Law’s 77.33%, Veterinary Medicine’s win of 72.5% against Pharmacy’s 66.33%. Dentistry secured a flawless 69% win against their colleagues from Agriculture, who went home with 64.58%, while Education lost 64.23% to RNR’s 70.58%.
Tech had 73.98% to EDM’s 61.83%, Nursing won 66.75% over Public Health’s 63.08% and Economics had 71.25% less than Clinical Science’s 74.66%.
The award for Best Speaker was awarded to Miss Akinlawon Goodluck, who spoke for the Faculty of Law.
The Faculty of Economics would be returning in the next round as the best loser.
The topics debated touched on sensitive subjects at the core of society, such as the cost of unregulated procreation, ELDS slots for the underpreveleged, Free tertiary education, STEM priorities over Arts and Humanities, among others.
Jaw War is expected to continue on Friday, as Halls meet for the second leg of their battle
