The late hours of last Saturday, June 16th, was invaded by a sombre and cold atmosphere after the news of the death of an Idiaite, popularly called “Are”, broke out in the hall. The emotional outbursts of residents especially on A block filled the hall some minutes after Nigeria lost the Saturday match, upon a report that suggested that the 19-year-old departed this stage of existence that evening.

Areola Tijesunimi was reportedly  indisposed and absent from school for over a week, as she was admitted in the University College Hospital Ibadan, before she fell asleep in the cradle of death after battling some illness which many believed to be chronic malaria.

Upon the sad news,  many Idiaites, friends and colleagues have taken to the social media to mourn the loss of a young, intellectual and cheerful resident who once contested for the position of hall chairperson in the hall. Meanwhile, some members of the executive council of Queen Idia hall alongside some other Idiaites and friends, visited the home of the deceased on Sunday to console them on the demise of the promising student.

UCJ writes with an heartbroken pen that prays that everyone finds solace and strength to bear this great loss
