Practical Year Training Program, PYTP, the annual practical programme for the 400 level students of the Faculty of Agriculture, begins on Monday, 8th of February 2020.
The program, which had been delayed for twelve months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NASU, SSANU and ASUU strike actions finally begins but with a change in its routine. Due to the pandemic, the program is now with the routine of all the students working at the Teaching and Research Farm (TRF) of the university, followed by posting students to agricultural firms.
The adjustment sees that students with accommodation in Ibadan being filed to begin at the TRF on Monday while others will be posted, in batches, to agricultural firms at Moniya and Ilero in Oyo state, Epe and Ibeju Lekki in Lagos State, Ayetoro in Ogun state, and others.
In a WhatsApp chat on Sunday, 7th of February, 2020, UCJ UI contacted Dr K. A Thomas, Chairman, PYTP to confirm the news and asked when the students to be posted will resume, he replied:
“PYTP posting is in batches. Statutorily, it commences tomorrow.”
