POLITICAL THREATS

“Mr. Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Chief Whip, and the Clerk of the house, I, honorable…………” These words and the actions in them make these so-called honorable feel themselves. Hmmm, I was just passing through when I heard that the clash between the Fatsssa House of Representatives and Fatsssa Press Organization is still very hot and boiling.

These honorable sha, do they not know that words are like uncooked eggs which when dropped can never be packed. They leave me wondering whether I am still in the circle of students or in the circle of thugs. My readers’ jare, let me give you the gist about these honorable but please, I will not mention names o, before they come and threaten to beat me to a pulp.

O ga o, I used my ears to listen and I heard one member of the FHR ask my Editor-in-Chief if she was blind and if she did not read the article that was published about three weeks ago. I just thank God that the Editor-in-Chief turned the honorable to a transistor radio (lolz). She did not even bother to reply the honorable because an adage says that the empty barrel makes the loudest noise.

The big blow which leaves me wondering if I am still in University of Ibadan or in Olabisi Onabanjo University. About three weeks ago, at a certain meeting, a member of the house, whose name I will not mention, said and I quote “If this were to happen in other school such as  OOU, something serious would have happened” (meaning the Editor-in-Chief might have been beaten to a pulp or shot by thugs). See me, see wahala o, just this previous week, a member of the house said that it was time for the FHR to use its power as an organ so as to make the Press apologize. Ask me that what are these measures of power usage or let me even as this honorable to boldly come out and tell us the difference between power and authority. Another honorable stood up and followed the normal protocol before she said, “if I were in the Speaker’s shoes, I would slap the Editor-in-Chief and demand an apology letter from her”.

Eh! Someone is sniffing the gown of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee here o, if this should happen, please what is our fate in the University setting. Are we still in the University environment or already into Nigeria Politics? Moments after the honorable made this statement, the other members of the house tried covering her by saying that she did not mean the statement that way looking for ways to dabaru everything as usual!

Let’s get it clear here and now, Fatsssa Press Organisation has no issue whatsoever with anyone. However if anybody has issues with the press it can be put into writing and we will take it from there.

Till next week, my dear readers, I leave you with this….”politics is not a do or die game as we portray it in Nigeria, it is supposed to be a call to serve.” I remain your loyal sweetheart….
