
The Abdulsalami Abubakar Hall (AAH), a post-graduate hall in UI, commences the Vice Chancellor’s Edition of the AAH Olympics, a week-long sports event, on Monday, October 28, and concluding on Saturday, November 2.
The opening ceremony, set to begin at 4:00 p.m. on October 28, will kick off the event with a football match, a sack race, and a shuttle race. The week will then feature a variety of indoor and outdoor games including football, volleyball, draft, table tennis, chess, scrabble, Monopoly, video games, card games, ayo, badminton, track races, egg race, sack race, and more.
Distinguished guests will be in attendance to celebrate this event, including The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan (Prof. Kayode Adebayo Adebowale), the Dean of Student Affairs ( Prof. A. Abiona), the Hall Warden of Abdulsalami Abubakar Hall ( Dr. Charles Akinsete), the Hon. Comissioner for Youth and Sport, Oyo State, Nigeria (Hon. Wasilat Adebayo Adefemi) and the Honourable Representative of Ibadan North Constituency 2 (Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel).
This edition of the AAH Olympics showcases a lineup of competitions designed to foster camaraderie among students and to encourage active participation in diverse sporting activities. The University of Ibadan community and the public are warmly invited to attend and support the athletes throughout the week.
