The Call for Entries for the 7th Edition of the annual Fisayo Soyombo Inter-Varsity Essay Competition has been announced by the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan.
This Competition seeks entries on a post-election national issue and it’s open to all undergraduate students in any Nigerian university.
“This prestigious competition invites students from various Nigerian universities to express critical thinking and showcase this in their writing prowess on pressing national issues through change-provoking essays,” the statement of the Organization read in part.
The statement also indicated that the topic for this year’s edition is: Igbo vs Yoruba Post-2023 Election: Can Nigerians Ever Live as One?

ENTRY FORMAT
Entry should contain the essay and a copy of the participant’s school ID in separate PDF files in an email to: ucjunibadan@gmail.com. Email Subject: “FISAYO SOYOMBO ESSAY CONTEST”.
PRIZES
First Place: N350,000
Second Place: N250,000
Third Place: N200,000
Recall that in the sixth edition two University of Ibadan students finished as second-prize winners and third-prize winners respectively.
However, names like Omoya Yinka Simult, Kunle Adebajo, Kannyinsola Olorunnishola, Habeeb Asudemade, and, Timileyin Precious, emerged as overall winners in older editions of the Competition.
