NEWS: UCJ Editorial, Four Reporters, Makes National Campus Journalism Awards Finalists

Four reporters of the Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ), University of Ibadan and an editorial of the Union itself has made the final shortlist for the 2024 Campus Journalism Awards, organized by Youth Digest.

UCJUI secured a place in the Editor Category with its editorial titled: A Charge to Ethical Journalism and Religious Tolerance, written to address the place of ethics in public interest journalism.

Favour Bamijoko, a reporter with Indy Press Organization is a finalist in the Entertainment Category with his entry: “The Demise of Social Activism in Nigeria’s Music Industry.” Atanda Ayobami of NASELS Press is a finalist in the Author (Book) category for “Dear Girl Child.”

Also, Eriomala John, the current Editor-in-Chief of UIMSA Press is a finalist in the Entertainment category for “Reflections on Soyinka’s Vision of Sayinka’s Race: A Voyage Around Essay.”

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 15, 2024, in Abuja.
