As a result of the low turn- out of candidates during the general election which took place last semester, a bye-election was put in place and two candidates; Adeyemo Samuel and Ogunsola Pamilerin won the post of the social director and the general secretary respectively. Unfortunately, the general secretary for reasons known to her refused to carry out her duties. It was gathered that she did not even show up for the swearing- in ceremony. She also has evaded not more than three congress meetings, and has not been seen in any meeting held by the executives.
It is in light of this and many other pressing issues that a congress held on Friday, 7th November 2014. The first on the agenda as expected was the issue of re- appointing a new general secretary. After a lot had been said, with no candidate in view, a 100 level student, Miss Ayo was appointed as the department’s Assistant Gen. Sec. Among other issues discussed were the low turn- out of Napsites at the just concluded personality lecture, re-calling Miss Queency from the Faculty Legislative Council, the appropriate place to hold our forth-coming dinner; inside or outside school?, appointment of a new set of constitution review committee, amongst others.
