Review: The Russo brothers truly outdid themselves yet again, bringing to life a story of power, commitment, friendship and love. If you’re a huge marvel fan, you’re in for a ride with various familiar characters – Iron man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and a host of others making appearances.
From the lightening to the colors, the cinematography is simply brilliant, using the best of colors to bring out stunning scenes that are captivating and mind blowing. Despite the gore and menace that Thanos (Josh Brolin) brings to the movie, the sharp and sometimes subtle humor shines through as we’re treated to unavoidable bits of laughter, except of course if you’re a sadist. The deft use of sounds and background tracks bring a sense of grace to scenes and cannot be understated. The actors in their own rights turn up to the party and deliver expertly in their roles.
This movie requires a vast knowledge of events that have happened in past marvel movies, as it serves as a crossroad for various storylines in the marvel franchise. The action scenes although very exciting, intriguing and pulsating are more violent and intense due to the genocidal nature of the villain. Thanos (Josh Brolin) is shown to be very powerful as the early stages of the movie sees him serve it to some of the strongest avengers.
Teamwork and friendship stand out as new alliances and friendships are formed. Love is a strong theme as we see that even the hardest heart can love. The movie takes us on a journey – literally, visiting various parts of the universe, giving us glimpses of the past and beautiful sights.
Marvel serves you a plate of suspense and unpredictability as we see unexpected events unfold – Yes, unexpected! They have once again succeeded in producing a movie that is brilliant on almost all levels, where every unit works and works beautifully. I guarantee you 160 minutes of pure magic. And possibly, repeated viewings.
