Mellanby Hall, the acclaimed first and best hall in the university of Ibadan, has won the Inter-Hall Football Competition.
Mellanby hall defeated Nnamdi Azikwe Hall in a penalty shoot-out at the preliminaries and also eliminated the great Independence hall with one goal [1] to nil in the semi-finals which automatically booked them a place in the finals.
The final which ensued between Mellanby Hall and Sultan Bello Hall took place at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium on Thursday 6th of November 2014. The first half of the game ended in a 1-1 draw. However, one of the Mellanby hall football players restored the lead by netting Mellanby’s second goal during the second half of the game which brought the score to 2 goals to 1. This was maintained till the referee blew the final whistle for the match.
