MEET THE 30TH EXCUTIVES

THE PRESIDENT

DSC_6367Arowosafe Samuel is a final year Student of the Department of Communication and Language Arts. He once served as the Sports Editor of Association of Faculty of Arts Press. He also served as the Public Relations Officer of the Union in the last administration. A seasoned advertiser and communication strategist. He has interned at Impact Advertising Media as a Project Supervisor; Directorate of Public Communication, University of Ibadan; as well as Ministry of Information and Strategy, Osun State. He is a member of Celestial Church of Christ Students’ Parish, University of Ibadan.

He believes in qualitative and an all-inclusive leadership style. He is a lover of good music, loves reading old newspaper, traveling and playing the piano.

VICE PRESIDENT EDITORIAL

Mujeeb Jummah is a 300 level student of the Department of Art and Social Sciences Education (the defunct Teacher Education Department), Faculty of Education. He is a lover of arts and Muslim by heart. He is the Igbo looking, Hausa name bearing Yoruba guy. Simply put, he is proudly Nigerian. Mujeeb had served as the General Secretary of Bello Hall Literary and Debating Society in the 2015/2016 session. He is an up and coming public speaker. He also served as the cartoonist for Adh-Dhikr press in his 100 level days. He moved onto the UCJ ranks by serving as the cartoonist for the 29th editorial board of Oredola Ibrahm’s administration. He is strongly of the doctrine that the leader is always the servant. And so, his leadership as the 30th administration’s Editor-in-Chief, he is here to serve.

VICE PRESIDENT ADMINISTRATION

Oloyede Evelyn Oluwatosin is a final year student of the department of Arts and Social Sciences Education. She is an indigene of Oyo state and speaks Hausa fluently. Her love for writing and self-expression spurred her into campus journalism. She has served as the managing editor of Queen Elizabeth II hall press organization. She interned at the Armed Forces Radio station in Abuja, where she functioned under the department of News and Current Affairs.  Aside being a journalist, Tosin is a fashion designer and has a growing brand of her own – Yatira Couture. Her philosophy is that “life does not give you what you deserve but what you demand”. She is lover of fairness and believes that true leadership lies in the ability to duplicate one’s self in others”. Tosin is simple, fun loving and is also a big time workaholic.

GENERAL SECRETARY

AustinAustine Elegbede, is a 400L student of the Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan. He hails from Ogun State. He joined the Press in his early days in the university and has continued to rise through the profile in terms of Campus Journalism. He started as the Deputy Chief Correspondent and then Chief Correspondence in 100L due to his dedication and commitment while in Zik Press. He thereafter proceeded to AFAS PRESS and after a year, he rose to become the Managing Editor (a post that until lately also combines the post of General Secretary, Financial Editor and P.R.O among others) under the leadership of Oke Babawale; a post that has taught him sacrifice, selflessness and the ability to multitask- thanks to the Editors that gave him that opportunity. In 2016, he was elected as the General Secretary of the Union of Campus after completing his tenure as the Managing Editor in AFAS PRESS- Faculty of Arts Press. As an astute journalist on campus, he has won many awards to himself as well as written thought provoking articles. Austine is easy going, jovial and hardworking. He loves people who are straightforward and those who do not use any form of excuse as a means for failure.

PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER 1

KariolaHe is Mustapha Kariola, Student, Department of Classics, 300 level, Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan. He loves journalism, religiously. You can’t seem to get him; he is a defensive writer and he always tells the truth as he sees it. This is his singular disease. He believes that when one does things the way it should be done, there will be no cause to have a clash. Yeah, he admits his mistakes and reconciles with penitent foes easily. He loves a moderate life, abhors frivolity and anyone who modifies the truth. In the very close future, he wishes to be a responsible man in character and scholarship. Mustapha’s portfolio is one that makes him the face of the Union. He and his partner (P.R.O. 2) are simply “Beautifansome!” Forthrightness is his watchword. PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER 2

Ogeroju PROOgeroju Opeyemi Rabiat is her name, given as a golden jewel on the 10th day of January, 1997, into the family of Ogeroju as the first child of two children. She hails from Oyo state, Ibadan aje oro sun to be precise. She is a Muslim by practice. Presently, she is a 300level student of the department of History, University of Ibadan. She loves garri, cold water and fried meat to ease her anger and hunger. But fried rice and chicken would be preferred in a party.  Opeyemi is a sport fan, a Taekwondo player, a cobbler but shoemaker in construction, handmade creative designer and an historian. To be humble she would say, “I am who God says I am.” The first Public Relation Officer 2 (in UCJ UI history) loves making friends but can also be cold in some cases. She respect intelligent people and abhors pretenders and liars. She believes in what she does and will never forget her dad saying, “wherever you are let your presence be noticed and absence be felt, positively or negatively the decision is yours.”

FINANCIAL SECRETARY

olanisimi_001Olanisimi Damilola is a 300 level student of the department of Philosophy, Facultyof Art. She is the first born of Prof. and Mrs. Olanisimi. Damilola, who is a Christian hails from Ondo state. She loves reading, praying and travelling.

 

 

ASSISTANT GENERAL SECRETARY

AGSBello Abdur-Rahman is a 200 level student of Animal Science. He is also known as “Farmer”. His ascent speaks volume of his nickname. His cap and beards point to the fact that he is a practicing Muslim. He was born on the 9th of April in 1997 to a family of Mr. and Mrs. BELLO in sogade village Ariyo, Amuloko Akanran road Ibadan, Oyo state. He obtained all his education in Ibadan. He proceeded to the University of Ibadan last year 2016 to study Animal Science, where he saw the opportunity to harness his naturally endowed gift of writing on campus and therefore he joined press organizations on campus.
