JCIN UI ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVES

The Junior Chamber International (JCI), University of Ibadan chapter on Sunday, October 24, 2021, elected new executives for the 2021/2022 session.

The election which was held at the Large Lecture Theatre of the Faculty of Technology began at exactly 6:30 in the evening after the annual general meeting and the dissolvent of the previous board members.

The Chairman of the electoral committee, Ogbaje Mordecai in his report on the screening results of the aspirants which had earlier been conducted on Saturday, October 23, 2021, explained that the screening of all aspirants was based on the JCI UI constitution on electoral matters and was therefore devoid of any external influence.

The aspirants were Fareedah Oladejo, Ibeh Precious, and Oyedele Mueez, for the post of the president;  Abdulssamad Akinwande for the post of the Executive Vice President (EVP male); and Olajumoke Bakare and Precious Mmbamara, for the post of the Executive Vice President (EVP female).

The election results were announced at 9:30 pm with Fareedah Oladejo emerging as the winner with 85 votes out of 144 total votes. Oladejo led Ibeh and Mueez who had 23 and 37 respectively.

Abdulssamad Akinwande emerged as the EVP Male with 138 votes and 4 undecided votes, while Precious Mmbamara won as the EVP female with a total of 76 votes leading her opponent, Olajumoke Bakare with 11 votes.
