
In a display of unwavering resolve, University of Ibadan students have continued their protest in the pouring rain, gyrating and chanting as they stopped the Union’s President, Aweda Bolaji, from addressing them.
The atmosphere is charged with energy as protesters, drenched but undeterred, sing and chant slogans, as the Union’s President battle his legitimacy to address the students. The Speaker of the House, Matthias Busoye, is currently addressing the protesting students instead.
The protesters are demanding a open meeting from both the university management, whom they expect to articulate their stance on the ongoing fee hike and the students’ demands for a reversal.
The scene on campus is one of determination, as students continue to resist despite the weather, sending a clear message that their protest will not be easily dismissed. .
