QUESTION: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE NEW LAW IN THE FACULTY OF ARTS THAT PROHIBITS NOISE WITH SUSPENSION AS THE PUNISHMENT.

LEVEL: 200
DEPARTMENT: Religious Studies
COMMENT:
To some extent it is okay but the punishment is too high for that type of misconduct. It could actually spoil things for those who want to campaign. Though noise making is not justified, a lesser punishment should be given to noise making in the faculty of arts.

COMMENT:
It is cool but the law presents faculty of arts students like secondary school pupils. It prohibits free discussion among students. I feel the punishment should be reduced to a lesser degree but students should also not make a noise when classes are ongoing.

DEPARTMENT: English
COMMENT:
It is a school setting which makes it almost impossible for noise not to occur. For instance, a good or bad news might break out, being a feeling many students can’t control, they shout. In actuality noise is a distraction but the punishment is threatening.

COMMENT:
I do not think the punishment attached to the defection of the law is going to be carried out to the latter because in a faculty like ours there is no spot where there would not be noise. There would definitely be distractions everywhere so I do not think the law is candid.
