JUST IN: UCJUI Announces Final Shortlist for Martins Isaac Best Inductee Prize

The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan, has announced the final shortlist for this year’s Martins Isaac Prize for the Best Inductee.

These finalists for the second edition of this award was announced in a brief signed by the Editor-in-Chief, Tijani Abdulkabeer.

“This year’s entries is a testament to the efforts that campus journalists put into ensuring that they tell important stories and I am particularly impressed by the qualities,” he said.

He also mentioned that although only one inductee would be awarded, campus journalists should not shy away from holding power to account, telling important stories and chasing excellence at the same time.

“The process was very competitive but it boils down to crowing only one person as the winner. Overall, campus journalists need to continue to address critical issues and always put in their best while telling those stories,” the Editor-in-Chief added.

The nominees are:

Rodiyah Khidir (UIMSA Press)

Ambali Olayinka (INDY Press)

Oluseun Fatope (AFAS Press)

Sunday Precious (UIMSA Press)

Victor Siyanbola (NASELS Press)

Jesutomiwa Adebumowa (Law Press)

Recall that the President of the Union, Tarre Elizabeth Tosanwunmi, had previously announced in a press conference that the Prize for the Martins Isaac Award for Best Inductee had received a N70,000 boost.

The winner would be announced
and presented with prizes during the induction ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
