JUST IN: Habeeb’s late free-kick seals MBBS victory over KHE

Habeeb netted a late free kick to help MBBS defeat KHE in their Group E match played on Tuesday, July 30th at the SUB football pitch.

KHE made their early dominance count as Tomiwa latched on to a delightful through ball to give his team the early lead.

Following Tomiwa’s goal, MBBS upped the ante and took the game by the scruff off the neck. They pinned KHE to their own half as they tried to find the equalizer.

The equalizer came shortly afterwards from MBBS skipper, Ramoni who riffled in a low shot from close range.

The student doctors controlled the game from then onwards while KHE were limited to counter attacks.

In the second half, MBBS continued from where they left off in the first half as they desperately sought for a win. KHE proved to be a strong matchup as they held their own at the back and fashion out chances at the other end.

MBBS’ pressured finally paid off late into the game when Habeeb sent in a free kick from just outside the area to hand his team a much deserved lead.

After taking the lead, MBBS managed the game and kept their opponent away from their own goal. The referee signaled the end of the thrilling encounter as MBBS go top of group E.
