The Faculty of Education defeated the Faculty of Arts 11-5 at the Awo Stadium to become the champions of the recently concluded Inter Faculty Basketball Competition.
The Faculty of Arts team could not handle the pressure posed by the Faculty of Education boys, as they fell behind early in the game.
Although they tried to level the scoreboard at some points, the Faculty of Education team piled more misery on the Faculty of Arts team, taking the game beyond their control. This ensured the Faculty of Education’s victory over their rivals from the Faculty of Arts.
After the match, the faculty of Education was rewarded with a cash prize of 50,000, while Dr Jide Babatunde, the special adviser to the Lagos State Governor on physical planning, gave the team Bag packs to complement the cash prize.
Meanwhile, the losing finalists, Faculty of Arts received a #40,000 cash prize in recognition of their efforts throughout the competition.
