At exactly 10:25pm, on the 20th of February, 2025, an accident occurred close to Queen Elizabeth II hall, University of Ibadan. Two individuals were identified to have been involved in the crash: a male who narrowly escaped and a female who suffered severe injuries, including head and leg trauma, which left her unconscious.
Due to the circumstances, the female victim’s identity remains unconfirmed, but findings suggest she is a student of the Distance Learning Centre (DLC). She was immediately rushed to Jaja Clinic and later transferred to University College Hospital (UCH), as confirmed by Student Union President Aweda Bolaji.
He said: “The girl hit by a car has been transferred to UCH for adequate medical attention. The car has also been seized. Driver didn’t run, he took the lady and her friend to jaja. Situation is under control.”

On the claim of the ruckus resulting from the campaign scene, he confirmed that was not true.
The university community awaits further updates on the victim’s condition.
