The University of Ibadan Students Representative Council has approved a N44,625 budget for the valedictory ceremony of the outgone 10th Assembly and the purchase of a union’s phone for N160,000.
This approval follows the Finance Committee Chairman’s report and the presentation of plans & budget for the purchase of a mobile phone by the union’s Public Relations Officer in the ongoing first physical plenary session of the 11th Assembly holding at the SRC Chamber
The justification for the purchase of a REDMI-13c phone, according to the House through its official X (Formerly Twitter) page of the SRC was “Dedicated Device for UISU TV [and] Secure Management of Social Media Accounts.”
Hon Wareez Olosho, the Chairman of the finance committee while presenting his report emphasized that “while this specific budget has been approved, the committee is still working on the union budget of the previous administration from December to May 2024.”
