INTERVIEW WITH MR. UI 2014/2015 Our personality for this week is the present Mr. U.I. TECHPRESS had the opportunity to speak with him. Please can you introduce yourself? My name is Onipede Oluwalonimi Olarinkomi popularly known as Nimi. I hail from Igbajo in Osun state. I am the second child out of three children. I was born on the 9th of December and currently a 200 level student of Adult Education/English in the Faculty of Education. Likes and dislikes As regards individuals, I like sincerity and modesty. And I dislike hypocrisy pretense and non-originality. Best moment My best moment was when I was called out as Mr. UNIBADAN 2014/2015. Most embarrassing moment When I fell down publicly. It was indeed very embarrassing and disgraceful. Role model My role model is Carlos Slim. Favorite food Yam and fried egg Best colour Blue What does it feel like to be Mr. UNIBADAN? It feels really good, it is a once in a life time experience, most especially when I was called to the podium as the winner. In one word, it was divine. What steps did you take towards the contestNothing much! Kudos to my manager and girlfriend who did all the running around for me while I did the countdown to the contest. What was your reaction when you were called out as the winner? At first I was cold then shocked to the extent that I couldn’t even move an inch. But gathering courage, I stepped out in joy. Did you ever think of winning the contest? YES. But when I saw other guys, I doubted a little. Are you in a relationship? Yes. Your type of lady Modest, gentle and sweet How do you manage the advances of ladies? (Sighs) Sadly, I don’t get any. Craziest thing you’ve ever done? Running around naked. Do you consider yourself handsome Well, I would say yes because I can’t go around with the mindset that I’m ugly. No one does that. Does being Mr. U.I. make you the handsomest guy in the University? NO, reason being that no particular individual has it all. Secret behind your looks First of all, GOD. Also, I go to the gym regularly coupled with constant body therapy. What is modeling to you? Modeling means representing a brand or selling a particular brand to the populace and the brand could be you. It is simply advertising and also a profession. Have you ever considered building a modeling career? A very big yes. Do you worry about whether people like you for the real you, or because you’re a celebrity? I’m not bothered about people loving the real me or not. Everyone is entitled to his/her own thoughts, likeness or feelings. I don’t care about what they think or feel Do you make friends easily? Yes. What is unique about you? My eyes. Some people think that Nimi has it all. What don’t you have? (Laughing) A lot o! Perhaps a good body, I think I’m too fat.
