Emphasizes “number two doesn’t mean second”
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka has reiterated his claim that the members of Staff of the University are his number one priority.
He said this at the Student Stakeholders’ Interactive Forum with the Vice Chancellor held at Trenchard Hall on Thursday, 16th June, 2016.
While referring to the controversy trailing his statement that “Staffs are his priority,” the Vice Chancellor said “what is the problem with that? Why are you competing with your lecturers?” Prof Olayinka at another discourse re-emphasised his disgust at the controversy when he said “I said staffs are my priority, and so what?”
Professor Olayinka however said that the number two priority was not an indication that he was less concerned with their welfare since “number two doesn’t mean second”.
