The President of the Junior Chamber International Nigeria in the University of Ibadan, Fareedah Animasaun has expressed her desire to make outstanding individuals out of her members. She said: “My plans for the LO year are founded on the desire to make outstanding individuals out of UI Jaycees.”
The statement was part of her presidential address to the members of the organization to mark the commencement of the General Assembly for the second semester of the 2020/21 academic session on Sunday, August 22nd 2021.
The General Assembly, which was held at the Lecture Theatre of the Faculty of Technology, witnessed massive attendance by members of the organization, intending members, friends, observers, invited friends and dignitaries from within and outside the university.
The guest speaker, Ahmed Olanrewaju, a researcher from the Information Technology and Media Services (IteMs) Unit of the University of Ibadan, while discussing the topic: “Youth in politics: agent of change of mere pawns”, amongst other things, urged members of the organization to deviate from being agents of destruction during and after election.
The General Assembly, which was the 5th for the session, deliberated and adopted plans of action from the Directorate of Publicity and the Chairperson of Tree Planting.
It also featured a game titled: “Who wants to be a field marshal” in which participating members were asked questions on general knowledge and facts about the organization to attain the rank of a field marshal which is said to be the highest rank in the organization.
