During the event, which held at Trenchard hall, the registrar of the institution, Mr Ganiu Oke Saliu administered oath of office to the newly elected Students’ Union leaders.

Speaking during the event, the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kayode Adebowale, advised the new executive members to lead the student body right, charging them to be conscious of their academic sojourn whilst serving the student populace.

Reacting to his emergence as the new SU President, Samson Tobiloba expressed his gratitude to God and appreciated the efforts of students. He highlighted some of the challenges students currently face on campus and charged the University management to be more committed in confronting them.

“I will like to appreciate the University management’s efforts towards innovative ways of funding the university activities and making provisions for the needs of students, however, there is more to be done. The poor water and power supplies, long waiting hours at the Jaja clinic, and rising prices of services and commodities are some of the other challenges confronting an average student of our University. All of these issues require our attention and immediate action,” his statement read in part.
