FULL LIST: 31 UI Students Selected For NHEF Scholars Program

Thirty-one students across various faculties in the University of Ibadan have been selected for the 2024 National Higher Education Foundation Scholars Program.

During the Program, each scholar undergoes intensive training by a thoroughly selected group of international facilitators. The Scholars then take up internship placements at various firms, which typically last 6 – 8 weeks. They also go through a robust curriculum ensuring continuous personal and professional development.

The NHEF Scholars Program is an early career-accelerating program that provides diverse opportunities to the selected Scholars from various Universities. Each Scholar goes through a weeklong orientation program that exposes them to career development training that is pivotal in facilitating an easy transition into the global workforce.

Students selected from the University of Ibadan for this year’s cohort represent 31 percent and they are from the Faculty of Technology; Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences; Faculty of Law; Faculty of The Social Sciences; Faculty of Science; and Clinical Sciences.

According to NHEF, selected scholars must “have demonstrated strong academic excellence and well-roundedness in both professional and extracurricular pursuits and provides them with intensive career training and skill-building exercises needed to aid them in long-term career development.”

Speaking with UCJUI, one of the scholars, Covenant Odedele, expressed gratitude for his selection and looked forward to how the program would help him leverage skills and knowledge to thrive in his career.
