Akiniran Oluwasemiloore Iyanuoluwa from the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan has qualified for the Rhine-Ruhr World University Games in Germany.
The 400-level student is one of the ten contingents representing the University of Ibadan at the International Federation of University Sports (FISU) Trials at the University of Jos.
Semiloore, who is also one of the two athletes representing the institution in Athletics participated in three Throw events — including Javelin, and Discus — qualifying for the former.
Meanwhile, Akinyemi Gloria a student of the Faculty of Education and Gbenro Obaloluwa, from the Faculty of Law both starred at the Swimming event on Tuesday.
Gloria clinched gold and silver medals Backstroke and Freestyle respectively, while Gbenro clinched silver and bronze medals.
The competition which is scheduled to hold from July 16th – 27th will feature 8, 500 student athletes from 150 countries competing across 18 sport events.
