Female Hall Triumphs as Indy, Kuti, and Tedder Bow Out of Jaw War 2025 Hall Category

All halls who went against female halls in the second leg of the Jaw War 2025 inter-hall round have emerged losers, with only 2 male halls qualifying for the next round by win, and one as the best loser.

Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall went against the Queen Elizabeth II Hall in a historic clash of old enemies. They debated the benefits of the globalization of Afrobeats, ending with an aggregate of 75.45% for Zik, a loss to Queens’ 75.85%.

Queen Idia Hall won an aggregate of 75.7% over Ransome Kuti Hall’s 73.9%, the Great Independence Hall lost with a 71.29% aggregate to Sultan Bello Hall’s 80.12%, while Obafemi Awolowo Hall won an aggregate of 77.87% over Lord Tedder Hall’s 74%.

Moreover, the Kenneth Mellanby Hall secured a 75.08% aggregate, less than Alexander Brown Hall’s 81.26%.

Therefore, based on their aggregates from the 1st and 2nd Legs of the Jaw War inter-hall round, Queens Hall, Idia Hall, and Awo Hall the three female halls, qualified for the Quater-finals, while Alexander Brown Hall and Bello Hall also qualified.

The Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall qualified for the Quater-finals as best loser from the second leg matches.

UCJ Editor-at-large, John Eriomala emerged Best Speaker for the round, with a total score of 84.63%. Nominees for the spot included both speakers from Zik Hall and the first speaker from Queens Hall.

Jaw War is expected to continue next week Tuesday, with the Quater-finals of the Faculty Round.
