Professor Busuyi Olasina AGBEJA of the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resoures, reportedly died on Monday evening, February 7, 2022 after a brief illness at the Univesity College Hospital, Ibadan.
He was the former and last Head of Departement of Forest Resource Management under the old Faculty of Agriculture Forestry before the creation of the new Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources which saw the department split into two—Forest Production and Products(FPP) and Social and Environmental Forestry (SEF) where he remained a lecturer until his death.
He was born in Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun State, Nigeria. He had his primary and secondary School at Ilesa. He was admitted into the Department of Forest Resources Management, University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1984. He graduated with B.Sc. (Forest Resources Management); M.Sc. (Forest Economics and Management); and Ph.D.(Forest Policy and Economics) in 1989, 1994 and 1999 respectively.
This makes the second death in two days as another member of the University Community, a 300 level student in the Department of History, Emmanuel Tolulope Akande, was also reported to have died on Sunday, February 6, 2022
