As the anxiety for this year’s edition of Jawwar, an annual public speaking competition between halls and faculties in the University of Ibadan, begins to build up, the final calendar for the competition has been modified, UCJ UI can exclusively report.
Recall that at a Press conference held last month, the Literary and Debating Society announced that the competition would start in September.
In the final calendar, which was approved following a meeting with the Acting Vice Chancellor, Babatunde Ekanola on Thursday, the competition would officially commence with the first leg of the Hall category on September 29.
Based on the new calendar, the UI finals would take place on November 13, two weeks before the National round scheduled to take place at the International Conference Centre on November 27.
Speaking exclusively with UCJUI, TLDS Presdient, Ayenu Otito-Jesu, maintained that all plans are fully ongoing to ensure the competition is bigger and better this year.
