Forbes Africa Person of the Year 2014: Dangote, Chimamanda Adichie, Others Nominated
Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote and writer, Chimamanda Adichie have been nominated for the award of Forbes Africa Person of the Year 2014.
The winner will be “the individual who, for better or worse, has had the most influence on business on the year gone by”, according to the Forbes Africa POY site.
The Director-General of the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission, ArunmaOteh was also nominated.
Other nominees are ThuliMadonsela, a South African who helped draft the country’s constitution in 1994 and was named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People this year and DonaldKaberuka, a Rwandan economist and the president of the African Development Bank.
This year’s Forbes Africa Person of the Year Awards will take place on the 4th of December 2014.

Dbanj & Don Jazzy Set To Work Together Again
D’banj & Don Jazzy will finally be working together again. D’banj has plans to make a 10th anniversary album, and revealed his former Mo-Hits partner would be on it.
“Ten years ago, October 4, 2004 to be precise, I got on stage to perform for the first time and now ten years later D’banj has become a brand. Don Jazzy worked with me from the beginning and I can tell you for sure that my 10th anniversary album will drop soon and there are many producers on it, including Don Jazzy,” D’banj said in a telephone interview with Beat FM.
The duo last worked together on hit song titled Oliver Twist.

Actress Deepika Padukone, who has lifted several awards for her performances in Chennai Express and Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela, says that awards are important as they are sign of appreciation and hardwork.
“Awards matter to me. I would have been very disappointed if I was not given any award. No matter what we say, at the end of the day, the person who goes there and wins the award feels good about it,” the 28-year-old said in an interview.
The actress, who made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with Om Shanti Om, also feels that her 2012 released film Cocktail was the turning point of her career.
A New ‘Harry Potter’ Story Is Coming Soon

J.K. Rowling will be releasing a Harry Potter story on Oct. 31, focused on the devil incarnate herself Dolores Umbridge.
The new story will provide a 1,700-word backstory about Umbridge, including new details, plus Rowling “revealing first-person thoughts and reflections about the character,”.
Rowling released two other wizarding stories earlier this year, one detailing 33-year-old Harry at the Quidditch World Cup and another about singing sorceress Celistina Warbeck.

Gospel group ‘Living Faith Connections Choir’ were crowned ‘Best Gospel Act’ at the MOBO Awards 2014 which held on Wednesday, October 22 at London’s renowned Wembley Arena. Living Faith Connections Choir beat out Annastasia Baker, J. Vessel, Noel Robinson, and Kristina Myles to win the prestigious award.
Giving thanks to God, the MOBO awards and the entire RCCG family, Pastor Chris Adeoye and choir director Evans Ogboi were on hand to pick up the award and offer a rousing speech, with Pastor Adeoyi adding that, “this is just a reward of what hard work can do, to the glory of God. Living Faith Connections Choir would like to thank everybody who voted for them to win this prestigious award.
