Everyone seems to ask, ‘’The sun is merciless, where is the rain? What exactly is going on? When did climate change become so drastic? Is the world coming to an end?’’. If you happen to have asked any of these questions, then you are beginning to feel the impact of climate change.

CLIMATE CHANGE
Nature has been quite favorable to us; however its abuse in all forms comes with its consequences. Over time, the atmosphere which sustains life has been polluted with a lot of carbon dioxide and other gases particularly the extremely hazardous chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) group. These groups of gases emitted by our activities has disrupted the composition of the atmosphere and depleted the ozone layer which protects us from the intense radiation of the sun. This simple yet complex process is the reason behind the extreme heat you are experiencing and this poses even greater risk to our lives.
As the earth temperature rises, so does the risks of heat-related illnesses, spread of infectious diseases and even death of the vulnerable human population. As the average global temperature increases, heat waves will become more frequent, more intense and longer-lasting. Even mosquitoes and cockroaches have increased in population because the humid environment supports their growth.
However, scientists have revealed that heat spells can be predicted weeks in advance and this will enable countries to prepare ahead of this life-threatening disaster.
In conclusion, we all have a duty in preserving our environment and making it more comfortable for ourselves.
Our duty starts now.
