
An Editorial of the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJUI), including reports written by two members of UCJUI shine in the Youth Digest National Campus Journalism Awards (CJA) 2024.
The UCJUI’s editorial titled ‘A Charge to Ethical Journalism and Religious Tolerance’ written during the first semester to address ethical concerns among campus journalists was the first runner-up in the Editor’s Category.
Favour Bamijoko, the current Entertainment Editor of Indy Press became the winner of the Entertainment Category with his entry: The Demise of Social Activism in Nigeria’s Music Industry, while Eriomala John, the current Editor-in-Chief of UIMSA Press with his entry: Reflections on Osofisan’s Vision of Soyinka’s Isara: A voyage Around Essay was the runner-up in the same category.
This 2024 Campus Journalism Award received a total of 373 entries from campus journalists across tertiary institutions in Nigeria and 36 finalists were selected from this pool of applications. The award ceremony held at Cosmopolitan University, Abuja.
