This lockdown period is very boring and long. Most of the times when we are tired of pressing our phones, chatting with family and friends, or reading books, we resort to watching or downloading movies but then we are caught in a dilemma, what movies are interesting? What are movies are filled with so much action that you would not want to turn your eyes away from the screen even for a minute? What movies will I download that will not be considered a waste of space or date? Well, these are five movies that will definitely “burst your brain’’ this lockdown period.
1 Extraction
Chris Hemsworth stars in this movie. The movie is filled with so many action scenes. From the beginning to the end, it is so intriguing. The storyline also was kind of chronological and has so many twists and turns. In the movie Extraction, it was basically a man against an entire city army and police. He was on a mission to rescue the drug lord’s son who was kidnapped by another drug lord in another city. The drug lord who kidnapped the son had the whole city army and police on his payroll. It was basically Chris Hemsworth playing the role of Tyler rake fighting against all odds to rescue the boy. It is a thriller and a must watch movie.
2 Miracle in Cell No. 7 (Turkish)
This movie can be described as a tragic comedy even it is more of tragic than comedy. It tells a story of a man suffering from a particular neurological disorder wrongly accused of killing a particular commander’s daughter. He was jailed and was subject to very harsh treatment in Jail. This man must however try to prove his innocence in order to reunite with his daughter. This movie was filled with so many tragic scenes that it made many people cry. It was wonderfully written and acted by the actors and actresses in the movie. It is a movie that you will really enjoy.
3 Beasts of no Nation
Well, if you have not watched Beast of no nation, this lockdown period is the best time to watch it. The movie was adapted from the novel written by Uzodinma Iwaela which was also titled Beasts of no Nation. It tells the story of children soldiers; how children particularly male children are forced to fight. Those who refused to fight are killed alongside the man. It showed how most children in that climate have no other choice and option to fight. The movie clearly shows the plight of children soldiers. It is a movie that will at least give an insight to the phenomenon called children soldiers. Idris Elba stars in this movie. Apart from it being interesting, it is also very educative.
4 Anna
Anna! Anna! Anna! What more can be said about Anna? Anna is a beautiful masterclass. It was well scripted and well-acted. It is action filled. It is definitely a movie that you will not like to miss at least one minute of the movie. It has so many twists in the movie. It is filled with so much suspense. This movie sparked a debate worldwide about whether it is better than the movie John Wick. Anna is an action packed movie played by a Russian actress Sasha Luss. I do not want to give many details in order not to spoil the movie. The movie is definitely up there with the greatest action movies produced in 2019. If you have not watched it, now is the time to.
5 Parasite
Parasite is a south Korean movie which became the first foreign language movie to win Best Picture at the Oscars. What set Parasite apart is the unique form of its story telling. The metaphoric title “Parasite” was linked very well and appropriately in the movie. Parasite tells the story from different sides of life (Rich and Poor) accurately in the movie using the characters to their fullest ability. Although it is south Korean, it is subtitled in English Language so you can be able to flow with the movie and understand the story-line. You will definitely not regret watching the movie.
These movies are very enjoyable and interesting. They will not only “burst your brain”, they will educate you and intrigue you.
