‘We Are On It’ — UISU Electoral Committee Speaks On Voting Link Delay

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union Electoral Committee has called for patience over the delay in the release of voting links.

UCJUI observed that at 11:13 am, there hours after the election was scheduled to start, almost all students were yet to receive voting links in their accredited mail.

However, speaking with UCJUI, Mrs Adeoye, the interim Chairman of the Electoral Commission, explained that they are working on it already.

“They have not. We are working on it. Our alternative centers are up already and we are working on the system right now. It will soon start working,” she explained.

Similarly, in a statement released by the committee, it called for the understanding and patience of students regarding the election.

“First and foremost, I want to assure you that we are fully committed to providing a fair and transparent election process. However, due to unforeseen circumstances and unexpected challenges that have arisen, we have encountered delays in the election preparations.

“Be rest assured, our dedicated team is working tirelessly to resolve the outstanding issues and ensure a smooth and efficient election process. At this juncture, We implore you to show patience and understanding during this delay,” the statement indicated.
