Information reaching UCJ UI has it that students have formed a crowd at the entrance of the Senate Chambers where the election is being monitored and are prevented from entering to lodge complaints.
These students, our correspondents gathered, are those who have a problem or the other voting in the elections. The electoral commissioners, we gathered, are currently trying to stem the crowd but it is at a slow pace. Calls made to the electoral commissioners did not go through.
Speaking with our correspondent, a student unable to vote said: “In my students’ mail, all these people have already voted for me, my rights is to vote and be voted for, why will someone vote for me on my own behalf. I am from Zik Hall, most of my friends, freshers are complaining they are unable to vote and they have voted for them. Why? Because their Hall excos have gotten their details from the portal. I have anonymously like 2 screenshots I can show you.”
As of this moment of filing this report, the site for voting is currently epileptic.
More details later…
