UI promotes 16 Staff to Professorial Cadre

There is jubilation in the homes of sixteen UI academic staff as this new month greets them with a new promotion to the professorial cadre.

According to the University of Ibadan Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, “The Appointments and Promotions Committee for Academic Staff of the University of Ibadan has its meeting today, Friday 1st November 2019, considered and announced the promotion of sixteen staff to the Professorial cadre.”

The newly promoted professors are Dr B. J. Brown- Paediatrics, Dr Adesola A. Hassan – Zoology, Dr Omobola O. Adelore- Adult Education, Dr O. O. Aregbeyen- Economics, Dr ASO Ogunjuyigbe- Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Dr Monica N. Odinko – Institute of Education, Dr. I.O. Oladipo- Human Kinetics and Health Education, Dr. J. A. Ayangunna- Social Work, Dr. Simisola Akintola – Private and Property Law.

However, Dr Olubukola A. Adesina – Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr. S. O. Oshunsanya – Agronomy, Dr. A. A. Adeyinka – Arts and Social Science Education, Dr. M. O. Ogundokun – Guidance and Counselling are among the academic staff that has been promoted to reader-cadre, otherwise known as Associate professor.   Dr Beatrice A. Laninhun- Communication and Language Arts, Dr. Sherifat A. Aboaba – Chemistry, Dr. D. U. Enweremadu- Political Science are not left out.

We equally wish them every success in their career.” VC said. “This is a very good way to start this new month which coincides with the period of our Convocation and Founders’ Day.”
