THE TALKING BEANS
MUM: Ebele!
EBELE: Yes mummy,
MUM: Come here, I am going to ask you a question, if you know what is good for you, you better not tell me any of your usual lies. Now, where is the beans I left in that black small pot in the kitchen, answer me, who ate the beans left in the kitchen!
EBELE: Mummy, I ate it.
MUM: Why? Who told you to eat it, how many times have I told you not to eat what does not belong to you?
EBELE: I am sorry ma, I did mean to eat the beans. It was when I came back from school and sat down on the chair beside the kitchen door to remove my socks that I heard a voice calling my name. I was so afraid because I was the only one at home. I later summed up courage and entered the kitchen and noticed that the voice was coming from the black small pot on the stove. Mummy, I was afraid to touch the pot, so I used the turning stick to remove the cover, as I looked inside, the beans was begging me to eat it so I obeyed.
MUM: My beans was calling you, Ebele and you obeyed, sat down and ate everything ehn! Did you use garri?
EBELE: Yes mummy
MUM: oh, you even had time to soak garri. Ebelechukwu at my age you expect me to believe all this nonsense you are saying. Why didn’t the beans talk to me the time I was cooking it? How come the remaining beans in the bag have not said anything to anybody in this house since I bought it? You have become so special that you can hear the voice of beans ehn?
EBELE: Mummy, I am not lying the beans begged me to eat it and I was hungry at that time.
MUM: This child you will not kill me, I am tired of your case I will wait for daddy to come back from work and hear this story of yours. Get out before I break your coconut head!
LOL!!!
