BOVAS and Company has once again declared support for budding student entrepreneurship and social innovation through sponsorship of the 2020 Hult Prize Movement in the University of Ibadan.
The Hult Prize, University of Ibadan is a microcosm of The Hult Prize – a global platform that selectively scouts for innovative ideas and creates room for global elevation. The program in the University of Ibadan, which is administered by the Students’ Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub (S.E.I.H.), UI, features the active participation of students both undergraduate and postgraduate (Masters and PhD alike) in presenting ideas that attempt to solve various problems in their societies.
The program serves as an early immersion into the competitive world of innovation for students. Students are expected to register in teams of three or four, after which they are expected to respond to the challenge for the year. Training and mentorship sessions are offered to all teams and the top 3 teams will receive cash prizes as well as the opportunity to proceed to the global regionals.
The Hult Prize 2020 on-campus program has begun in earnest with the following schedule: Hult Prize Press Conference – 31st August 2019, Registration begins – 16th September 2019, Registration ends – 25th October 2019, Boot camp – 13th November – 15th November, Elevator Pitch – 22nd November 2019, Final Pitch day – 7th December 2019.
In his meeting with the Hult Prize organizing committee, Mr Temitope Samson, Executive Director of the BOVAS group noted that he “hopes this year’s program will be even more excellent, raising the bar so that students can learn, do better innovatively and compete confidently in the international regionals and finals.
