UI MUSLIM COMMUNITY HOLDS ANNUAL QUR’ANIC GRADUATION CEREMONY

The University of Ibadan Muslim Comunity, UIMC, held her annual graduation ceremony for those who had successfully completed the basic Qur’anic recitation classes.

The event which marked its 20th year running was marked on Sunday, July 30, 2017, inside the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.

The crux of the event, which signified the successful graduation of the students was taken by the Chief Imam, Professor AbdulRahmon Oloyede. He recited the sura Al-Fatiha and sura Al-Bakarah for the graduands to repeat. This was regarded as the age long tradition of graduation.

The “Walumat Khatmil’ Qur’an” as it was called included adult learners who made part of the total graduands. Amongst them are Alhaji Nureni Afolabi, Colonel Olatinwo Olaide Musiliu (rtd), Barrister Adegoke Belau Adebisi, Alhaja Babatunde Rafat  Alake, to mention a few.

Over 80 students, who drew mammoth crowd from friends and family, were graduated.
