NON-CHALLANT MANAGEMENT: STUDENTS DONATE TO BUY PUMPING MACHINE FOR HALL OF RESIDENCE

The students of University of Ibadan in a stakeholders’ meeting called by the leadership of the Students’ Union have donated about 90 000 naira to buy a pumping machine for Obafemi Awolowo Hall of the University.

Since little or no change have occurred after the flash protest organised by the Students’ Union of the University of Ibadan on 5th March 2016, the students of the Premier Institution are set to purchase a pumping machine for Obafemi Awolowo Hall in the institution.

The decision was suggested by a Post Graduate student named David Adeoye and was eventually adopted by the generality of the students present which included Executive members of the Union, Honourable members of the Student Representatives Council, Faculty Associations’ Presidents, Hall Chairpersons, Pressmen et al.

It must be mentioned that residents of Obafemi Awolowo Hall have been suffering from water scarcity for quite a long time that they had to at some points get their water from a well located outside of the Hall.

It is expected that the pumping machine will be brought to the Hall the following day of the meeting (Thursday, 24th March, 2016) and be fixed on by Friday, the next day.

The students who made the donations were of the opinion that they had to take their destiny in their hands since the University management was not ready to take their welfare seriously.
