“I HAVE PLANS FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH SPECIAL NEEDS”—NIFEMI

Mr. Ojo Emmanuel Oluwanifemi, an aspirant vying for the position of the Students’ Union President had said he had as part of his plans, the welfare of Uites with special needs.

He made this known while responding to the question asked by a student living with disability, during the Press night organized by the Union of Campus Journalists in conjunction with the Students’ Union Electoral Commission.

Mr. Nifemi who had as part of his plans, the welfare of students said if elected, he would look at the welfare of students irrespective of the differences among them.

“We shall look at the welfare of students” he said.

It should be remembered that the Presidential aspirant mentioned during the Presidential debate organized by the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan that he is concerned with what Uites eat and drink as he is ready to fight for development in that area.

In his words, “Low quality of bread…UI water has taste, anybody that monopolize would definitely extort…..we would fight that.”

While addressing Pressmen, Nifemi said that the state of the Students’ Union bus is of concern to him as he intends to repair them and put them to work. This, according to him, is one of his plans to regulate price of cabs on campus.

“We will make sure we do something about the Students’ Union bus…I will make sure the bus is repaired and used in my tenure…we will be able to regulate the price of cabs” he said.

Mr. Ojo Nifemi had said during the Presidential debate that if elected, he would help the management without consulting them.

While discussing how he would achieve that, he said “We need legal backing, Femi Falana and Tunde Bakare would be part of our administration….there are platforms opened by the school to help them. We would tap to these.”
