HALEEM OLATUNJI, ALAO ABIODUN, OTHERS BAG AWARDS AT UCJUI 30TH ANNIVERSARY

Former Vice President Editorial of UCJUI, Haleem Olatunji, and some other campus journalists walked away with meritorious awards and cash prizes at the UCJUI thirty years anniversary/induction ceremony.

The programme which held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 and witnessed large turnouts of pressmen and non pressmen alike, saw hardworking campus journalists rewarded.

Haleem, who is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Mellanby Hall Press Organization, came through as best campus journalist of the year which was sponsored by Professor Sheriff Folarin. He had beaten both ‘Kunle Adebajo and Kanyinsola Oloruninsola to clinch the title.

Other major awards of the day was given to the winner of the Hammed Ibraheem Photo Contest, Alao Abiodun. Alao, who is the Editor-in-Chief of NUESA Press, was closely followed by Olumide and Rufai Sidiq at second and third place respectively.

The Sheriff Folarin sponsored award, best campus journalist of the year, is set to go on for five straight years as the HIB had already made its debut the previous year.
