UI: VC COMMISSIONS NEW FACULTY OF PUBLIC HEALTH BUILDING

The new Faculty of Public Health Building at the College of Medicine funded by the Tertiary Education Fund (TETFUND) and Internally Generated Funds has been commissioned on Wednesday, 29th July by the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka.

In his remarks, Prof Olayinka said the project which cost about Ninety Five Million Naira “would go a long way to solving the acute shortage of lecture/seminar rooms and office accommodation for staff at the Faculty of Public Health.”

He also added that “the University will continue to make the provision of an environment conducive to teaching, learning and research a top priority.”

The Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the former Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital, Prof. Temitope Alonge, who made provision for an alternative land on which the project is situated after the original land was found to be unsuitable for construction alongside other University members and stakeholders whose noble efforts birthed the project.
