In a recent mail received by Prof. A. B. Ekanola, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (academics) from the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), interested University of Ibadan students are specially invited to participate in the coming 2019 international diplomacy forum (IDF) scheduled to hold from 10th to 12th of July, 2019 in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand.
According to the mail, the 2019 IDF, which has on its lists of engagements: interactive workshops, solution-based discussions, negotiation exercises, career advice and networking, is “designed to recognize, develop, and enhance the next generation of global leaders.
“Delegates will gain fundamental skills, insights and connections, essential for their roles as social justice advocates, within their future careers concerning sustainable and inclusive international relations and partnerships.
“The accredited Forum provides dedicated individuals with an experience that differentiates them from the population of emerging graduates, whilst simultaneously providing the global opportunity to engage with the International Diplomatic Community.”, the mail read.
It was also disclosed in the mail that Prof. Kishore Mabhubani, former president of UN Security Council and one of the top 50 world thinkers recently selected by Prospect Magazine, “will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural International Diplomacy Forum 2019.”
“Applicants can either be nominated by faculty members to represent University of Ibadan, or apply independently by submitting their CV to UNCC’s Global Partnership Associate, Ms. Claire Emery at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“For more information about the International Diplomacy Forum 2019, registration fees and themes to be discussed, please visit www.internationaldiplomacyforum.org” the mail reads.
It was however added that due to high interest and limited seats at the UNCC, students are advised to apply before May 31, though applications are still open after then, but those who apply early before the mentioned date will receive the highest consideration for acceptance.
